Families aren’t in this alone. We walk with them.

Villages of California brings mental health care directly into schools and homes so that no young person falls through the cracks of a system that wasn't built for them.

Our Mission

Villages of California provides individualized mental health care to youth and young adults through a collaborative team of licensed clinicians, school staff, and families. We address the behaviors that get in the way of academic success, help rebuild healthy family and peer relationships, treat mental health challenges, and stay with each family throughout their care.

Our clinical approach is designed around one belief: every client can build the skills and resilience to navigate life's hardest moments - they just need the right support, in the right place, at the right time.

Our Vision

We envision a system of care where mental health support isn't something families have to search for - it's already there, built into the schools and homes where young people spend their lives.

Too often, students and families fall through gaps in a system that lacks the resources to meet them where they are, especially when a handoff between programs means starting over from scratch.

Villages of California exists to close that gap. We meet clients where they are and stay with them through every level of care, so getting help never means starting over.

What We Offer: Care That Meets Clients Where They Are

No two clients need the same thing, so no two treatment plans look the same. Our multidisciplinary team works across three connected environments to deliver care that's actually accessible:

In Schools

On-site mental health support integrated with academic teams, so behavioral and emotional challenges are addressed before they derail a student's academic path.

In Homes

Family-inclusive treatment that builds healthy communication and relationships where clients actually live — not just in a clinical office.

Across the Continuum of Care

From early intervention to higher levels of clinical support, we adjust the intensity of care as needs change, staying with families through every level we're equipped to provide.

What we treat / support:

  • Behaviors impacting academic performance and school engagement

  • Mental health conditions

  • Substance use challenges

  • Family and peer relationship challenges

"Clients Do Well If They Can"

Our Approach

Clients do well if they can. That belief drives everything we do. Too often, mental health systems treat a client's resistance as a character flaw. We see it differently: resistance is a signal that the environment needs to adapt, not proof that the client is the problem.

Every Villages of California clinician trains on the same proprietary clinical framework, built on peer-reviewed research into empathy, therapeutic alliance, and psychological adjustment. In practice, that framework shapes three things: how quickly we build trust with a client, how we set treatment goals together instead of handing them down, and how we adjust care to fit each client's specific situation.

The result is simple: families get the same standard of care no matter which clinician they work with, because that standard is trained, not left to chance.

The Villages of California Community

"It takes a village" isn't just a saying for us. It's the model.

We asked parents how Villages of California has helped them…

“They help us in being a better person and better parents, in the school having more involved volunteers. They have very good events for the community.”

“It helps us have better communication with our children and community.”

Families aren't in this alone.

Many programs treat a narrow slice of need and step back once a client doesn't fit. We built our continuum of care so we can adjust the level of support as needs change, and stay closely involved rather than handing a family off and moving on.

What Sets Us Apart

We come to where clients already are.

Care embedded directly in schools and homes removes the biggest barrier to treatment: access. Families don't have to navigate transportation, scheduling conflicts, or unfamiliar clinical settings to get support.

We treat the whole system, not just the individual.

Our model actively involves school staff and families as partners in care, not passive bystanders, because lasting change happens in the environments clients return to every day.

Our clinical philosophy is proprietary, trained, and consistent.

Every clinician on our team is trained on the same research-grounded framework. That means consistent quality of care, regardless of which member of our team a family works with.

Every Family Deserves a Village.

If you're a parent, school partner, or clinician looking for a program that won't give up on a family, we're ready to talk.
