We envision a world where our youth can thrive.
Villages of California envisions a world where students are equipped with the skills and knowledge to help themselves; where each student is given the professional support to overcome their unique challenges and realize their academic and personal potential.
WHO WE ARE
A dedicated group of mental & public health professionals, counselors, and veteran advocates of well-being who are passionate about increasing access to mental health resources, reducing the stigma around seeking & relying on said resources, and giving our youth the opportunity and framework to not only help themselves now, but in the future.
Our Story
As the founders of Villages of California, we began our careers in the non-profit, academic, and private practice settings. We recognized a substantial gap in the services offered to individuals and their families struggling with substance abuse, mental health issues, and academic challenges. Families and their children in dire need were often only offered weekly therapy sessions when it was clear they needed so much more. In our collective thirty years’ experience working with professionals within the legal system, social services and residential care, we noticed that substantial progress was made when families were provided support beyond the traditional client/therapist treatment setting. A well-conceived and coordinated team-based approach was needed. And so we founded Villages of California.
